Mimi has debuted with film Bapi Bari Jaa was released on 7 December 2012 in which she played the female lead, Dola. The film was produced by Prosenjit Chatterjee production house, Ideas Creations. The film was also the silver-screen debut of Arjun Chakrabarty (better known as Gora, the male protagonist from Gaaner Opaarey) who played the role of Bapi, the male lead.
Mimi Chakraborty will be seen next in Khela Jakhon which is directed by Arindam Sil. It is a thriller movie revolving around a woman who has come out from a long-term coma with no memory of the past. Her husband starts to take care of her but she fails to recognize him and everyone else who claims to be related to her. The mystery starts to intensify with every passing minute.
The film features Anirban Bhattacharya opposite Mimi in the lead role. The actress turned politician contested and won from Jadavpur Loksabha constituency as a Trinamool Congress candidate in general elections held in 2019. Besides being a powerhouse performer, the Bengali beauty is now garnering attention for her sartorial choices.
